How Recommendations Progress

Every SEO recommendation in Korvex follows a structured lifecycle designed to track progress and measure impact. The platform automates status transitions wherever possible, reducing manual workflow management while ensuring accurate performance measurement.

Status Definitions

StatusDescription
PendingRecommendation is in your backlog awaiting prioritization. No work has begun.
In ProgressActive work is underway. Baseline metrics (Koray score, traffic, average position) are automatically captured when moved to this status.
DeployedChanges are live on your website and being monitored. The system is collecting data to measure impact.
CompletedImpact has been measured and the recommendation shows proven results. This is the target outcome.
DismissedYou've chosen not to implement this recommendation. Any dependent recommendations are automatically unblocked.

Automated Status Transitions

Manual intervention is only required to move cards from Pending to In Progress. The system handles subsequent transitions:

In Progress → Deployed

  • For CMS-executable recommendations (meta descriptions, H1 tags, etc.), the system automatically pushes changes to your CMS and moves the card to Deployed once live
  • For manual implementations, you drag the card to Deployed after completing the work

Deployed → Completed

  • The daily outcome tracker runs at 12:00 UTC, comparing baseline metrics against current performance
  • Cards automatically move to Completed when the monitoring period ends and results are positive

Data Capture by Status

In Progress

  • Records baseline Koray score, organic traffic, and average position for the target URL
  • Sets estimated_impact_date based on the recommendation's time_to_impact_days value

Deployed

  • Captures deployed_at timestamp
  • Initiates monitoring period for impact measurement

Completed

  • Stores outcome classification (positive, partial, or failed)
  • Records performance delta between baseline and current metrics

Deployed vs. Completed: Why Both Matter

Deployed indicates the change is live but impact is still being measured.

Completed confirms the change produced measurable, positive results.

This separation is crucial because SEO improvements require time to manifest. For example, meta description updates may take 2-4 weeks to influence click-through rates. The Deployed status provides visibility into live changes awaiting validation, while Completed represents proven successes.

Best Practices

  • Always use the Deployed status: Moving directly from In Progress to Completed bypasses impact measurement, preventing the system from capturing improvement data
  • Leverage dependency management: When you dismiss a recommendation, any dependent recommendations are automatically unblocked and can proceed
  • Monitor via Board view: Use the kanban board for a visual overview of recommendation distribution across all workflow stages and categories

The workflow is designed to provide clear visibility into your SEO implementation pipeline while automatically capturing the data needed to demonstrate ROI and optimize future recommendations.
